Maribyrd Maribyrd
Singer, Songwriter, Artist

"Chock-full of acoustic darlings, 'The Cabin Sessions' maintains a
harmonious ambiance throughout. From the country, electric vibe of
"North Country Snow" to the moody strokes of "Closure," the album
shows Hubley's ability to push the envelope of acoustic music."

Affectionately described by her peers as NJ's Joni Mitchell, Mary Hubley, known as Maribyrd, is a singer/songwriter born and
raised in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Northern NJ. Performing as a solo artist, with her bands, and sitting
in with various other artists throughout the NJ and NY music scene, Byrd plays acoustic guitar, mandolin, a little bass, and
loves singing harmonies. She started playing music as a teenager, self taught on her mom's old nylon string Yamaha. That's
when she started writing. Maribyrd's debut album "Joe's Basemant" was recorded in 2002, and is chock full of some of the most
talented musicians in the north jersey music scene. 13 years later she finally buckled down for a follow up record, and "The
Cabin Sessions" was released the summer of 2015, followed quickly by the debut album from her band Byrdgrass, in 2016.
(CD's are for sale at all of her shows, as well as on CD Baby, I-Tunes, and most places music can be found on the interwebs:)
You can also hear Byrd's ethereal vocals adding harmonies to many of the recordings that have come from other artists in the
NJ music community. As time goes on, Maribyrd is spending more time on the road, she has had several runs through the
Asheville/Nashville scene, plays regularly throughout upstate NY and New England, and in 2016 completed her 1st cross
country tour, successfully singing her way out to Seattle and back, winning over the hearts new fans by the minute.
Some collaboration albums and a new solo record are in the works, look for Byrd to be flying through your town soon!

When Maribyrd doesn't have a musical instrument in her hands, she trades it for a paint brush or a crochet hook. As a
decorative artist, she works in peoples homes, as well as from her workshop, in Boonton, NJ. Her skills include woodgraining,
marbleizing, stencils, antiquing, custom wood finishes, furniture refinishing/repair, and gold and silver leaf finishes. She also
specializes in painting speakers/outlet covers/vents to match just about any finish...wood, stone, tile, wallpaper, paint etc. You
can email her for painting inquiries. Byrd's other medium is yarn...she crochets hats, scarves, childrens toys, baby blankets,
and other random things...including upcycled "bag-bags"... samples can be found on her Etsy Page, all orders are custom made!
